Marvel Comics' first Black superhero debuted in Marvel’s “Fantastic 4” comic in 1966, and became a member of the Avengers two years later. But the Black Panther character first appeared in comic book pages decades before the hit film. The film “Black Panther,” starring the late Chadwick Boseman, broke ticket-sale records in 2018.
